As our youth prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation we came to realize that this, too, is all about relationship, a relationship with Christ and a relationship with the Catholic Christian community! In order to foster this relationship and to properly prepare our youth for this sacrament of the Church not only do our candidates continue to participate in Living Faith along with their families, but they also participate in a two year period of preparation as recommended by the Diocese of Metuchen.
This two year process assists our adolescents as they grapple with the choices necessary to keep Christ front and center. We offer them small group faith sharing sessions to lead them to the all important DECISION POINT, a DECISION for Christ and for the Church...one that leads them to embrace a life of faith and the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Parents are strongly encouraged to participate on-line in the journey toward Decision Point by visiting this website:
Dynamic Catholic - Decision Point
In addition to small group gatherings, teens will also have some independent study, an afternoon of retreat and some service expected, all assisting those who are baptized and preparing to be Confirmed to more fully know Jesus and to embrace the faith they profess and to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
