Our faith community is always happy to welcome those who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith!
After a time of Inquiry, a person who is still interested may begin the process of formally preparing to join the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. The length of this process will vary from person to person depending on their background and readiness, but for many people it will begin in September, culminate with the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil, and continue through the Easter season.
As a person journeys through this process they are not alone! They walk accompanied by a sponsor, as well as a team of parishioners who guide and support them, and the entire parish and Christian community which is praying for them and supporting them and working to integrate them into the Roman Catholic community along the way!
Once this process begins there is the expectation that the candidate will fully commit to this process, participating in Mass weekly, Breaking Open the Word after being dismissed from Mass (reflecting on the Word that was proclaimed) and then spending time in community learning more about the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church.
