Who We Are
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a worldwide Catholic organization dedicated to helping members grow in spirituality through service to those who are poor and needy in their community.
What We Do
We provide help to families in need within the Plainsboro and Cranbury area. We work together with the person to evaluate their situation and come up with a plan of action that will hopefully put them back on track. In addition, on the first Saturday of each month, we provide a team of people to help out at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Perth Amboy.
One of the most essential things we do is gather quarterly as a Vincentian group so that we can strengthen the spirit of friendship among all members as well as grow in spirituality through our experiences of seeing the face of Christ in those we serve.
How Can You Help
There is always room for anyone who wants to join in what we do! Perhaps you'd be willing to be one of the people who monitors the phone messages. Maybe you'd like to try being a home visitor. The work at the food pantry might appeal to you. Feel free to come to one of our monthly gatherings. The gatherings are announced in the parish bulletin. Contact the parish office for more information.
If you wish to help us financially, donations to the Queenship of Mary St. Vincent de Paul Conference can be placed in the weekly collection basket or sent to the parish office. We are a 501(c)3 charity and will provide you with the appropriate documentation for your gift.
Need Help Yourself?
If you are in need of help call 609-799-1428, ext. 110. You will be directed to leave a message on our phone line. A volunteer is assigned each week day to respond to messages so you should hear from us within 24-48 hours. Messages left on weekends will likely be returned on Monday. You don't need to be a parishioner, you don't need to be Catholic, you just need to be a person in our community who needs help.
